28 June 2017 | Nikki Cross vs Asuka

Nikki Cross vs Asuka

I was immensely looking forward to this match and both, Asuka and Nikki Cross, didn’t disappoint. In a match of almost twenty minutes there was everything to see: great story, top spots and finally Mauro Ranallo back on commentary. Enjoy!

NXT TakeOver: Orlando 2017/04/01: Ohno for No Way -OR- NXT is still glorious – thanks to Asuka and the tag teams

NXT TakeOver ORLANDO_behind_Ambregal_collage

Two great matches, one fun match and a main event I couldn’t care less about. Most certainly, NXT isn’t on the same level again that it had been before. William Regal introduced us to all new title belts and there are even more indie wrestlers (back) in NXT. I’m not really looking forward to that aspect. But I’m looking back to NXT TakeOver: Orlando. 28 January 2017 | Asuka vs Nikki Cross vs Billie Kay vs Peyton Royce

Usually the NXT TakeOver specials are indeed something special, something to look forward to. And usually the shows exceed all expectations. But not this time. Most matches appeared as fillers and didn’t have much history / story to them. And also the Fatal 4-Way match for the NXT Women’s Championship could have been better and longer. I still enjoyed this match the most from NXT TakeOver: San Antonio, so it’s on my list of Best NXT Matches of 2017. Here are my thoughts. Enjoy!

NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II 2016/08/20: Bobby Roode is gloriously overrated

At the moment, Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano are my favourite wrestlers in all of WWE right now. So, of course, their match against The Revival was my main event of NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II. Others didn’t impress me that much. I still don’t get why people aren’t excited about Andrade “Cien” Almas. The guy is glorious, much more than the guy overly hyped as such. Other impressions from the latest NXT live show, you can read here. Enjoy!

Finally the title of this NXT TakeOver special was explained. And there were two debuts I very much enjoyed. Here is what I have to say about NXT TakeOver: The End.

NXT TakeOver Dallas 2016/04/01: It’s the start of the world as we’d like to know it

When it was announced that the first NXT TakeOver live event of 2016 would be on April Fools’ Day, I knew it was prone to be a great show. And it was. Here is my review. Enjoy.
