14 June 2017 | Raul Mendoza vs Velveteen Dream

Raul Mendoza vs Velveteen Dream

Another (too) quick encounter but with a character in The Velveteen Dream whom I find rather interesting (for some strange reason). The guy formerly known as Patrick Clark finally got a gimmick and makes his first impressions to the NXT audience. And because this is what NXT initially was: being a platform for young talent, The Velveteen Dream – together with his opponent Raul Mendoza – makes it to my list of Best NXT Matches of 2017. Enjoy!

07 June 2017 | Hideo Itami vs Oney Lorcan

Hideo Itami vs Oney Lorcan

Oney Lorcan still has to play the victim. But he does it in his own, highly entertaining, way. On the other side, Hideo Itami’s GTS isn’t as impressive as from the guy WWE doesn’t mention by name. This match doesn’t even have a winner and still it’s part of my list of Best NXT Matches of 2017. If you like to read why, simply click on. Enjoy!

NXT 2017/05/31: Tommaso Ciampa makes sure that the NXT crowd hates him but he still loves Johnny Gargano

Tommaso Ciampa collage

With Tommaso Ciampa turning on Johnny Gargano, my enthusiasm for a possible forthcoming Feud of the Year 2017 had been enormous. Unfortunately, it now more looks like possible Feud of the Year 2018 since Tommaso Ciampa suffered from a torn ACL. But before he underwent surgery, he delivered Promo of the Year 2017. And makes me already miss him.

20 May 2017 | The Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar; w/ Paul Ellering) vs #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano)

AOP vs DIY

Everyone knew, it had to happen. But when it did, it was still surprising, shocking and highly emotional: Tommaso Ciampa turned on his best friend Johnny Gargano and basically threw #DIY away – just like that. But when you think about it, it’s just another turn in the long storyline those two men live on since they arrived in NXT. In here I write about their match against The Authors of Pain at NXT TakeOver: Chicago, the turn and what to expect from it. Enjoy (well, perhaps not but you know what I mean…)!

20 May 2017 | Pete Dunne vs Tyler Bate

Pete Dunne vs Tyler Bate

The newest edition of Pete Dunne vs Tyler Bate didn’t fail to amaze. This encounter had been even better than their first one on WWE soil in the final of the United Kingdom Championship Tournament. Now this was the long awaited re-match and it was another instant classic. Enjoy!

17 May 2017 | Kassius Ohno vs Andrade “Cien” Almas

Kassius Ohno vs Andrade Cien Almas

Two of my current favourites going against each other. Means: this match certainly goes into my collection of Best NXT Matches of 2017. It also has this one moment that makes it worthy of the appreciation. It also got great storytelling because the two lads are simply good at it. Enjoy!

17 May 2017 | Lacey Evans vs Sonya Deville

Sonya Deville vs Lacey Evans

It was just a short match and it won’t appear in any collection of Best NXT Matches of 2017 but this one right here. Because I like both characters and their fighting style. Those short matches certainly are just done to introduce a few more newer women to the TV audience to prepare for the women’s tournament in Summer. But Lacey Evans vs Sonya Deville still is a good encounter. Enjoy!
