Dean Ambrose’s first win of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank on 19 June 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada when Dean Ambrose cashed in his just one hour earlier won contract in the briefcase, was probably decided very late and most certainly won’t last long. Because it probably only happened because Roman Reigns got suspended for violating the WWE’s Wellness Policy. So, Dean Ambrose jumped in when Reigns was injured in Autumn / Winter 2014 / 2015; and right now he’s also just a placeholder.

Dean Ambrose’s first televised title defense is scheduled for Battleground on 24 July 2016 in Washington, D.C and it will be a Triple Threat match against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. I highly expect for Dean Ambrose to lose the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at this very occasion, so we should enjoy every tiny moment of his title run while it lasts.

Once again I lost interest in WWE at all, mostly because of the constant moaning in the internet. If things are really bad like it was with the Women’s Devision or with Roman Reigns being pushed too high too soon, I get it. And I did my part. But since Dean Ambrose was the WWE World Champion, I was able to read how badly he sucks, that he can’t wrestle, that his gimmick is annoying, that he oversells, that he doesn’t sell at all – even the same so-called wrestling expert sites or in podcasts with very important sounding fat wrestling fans sitting behind their microphones, those guys were contradicting themselves within sentences.

In the beginning, I just put it as jealousy that a basic looking Indie guy like Dean Ambrose is able to achieve the peek of the mountain of WWE. In my honest opinion, it’s no accident that Kevin Owens is so loved because he’s basically looking like most of the male fandom. I’m not bashing on Kevin Owens here, I’m bashing on the fat wrestling fans bashing on wrestlers who don’t look like them. And of course, I also blame the female fans of Dean Ambrose who either credit Renee Young for his success (!) or give this woman more attention with their hate than she deserves. I have to be honest, I lost a bit of interest in Dean Ambrose also because of his association with this woman. I said my part about her and I won’t repeat myself. The less attention she gets, the better it is.

But the truth is, I like Dean Ambrose more when he’s edgy, when he tells his stories inside the ring, when he’s fully focused and just does those special things out of nowhere, noone expects but everyone knows they will come. I miss the Dean Ambrose from his feud with William Regal. This was the best Dean Ambrose and I’m afraid we won’t ever see him again.

Now, that Dean Ambrose lost the WWE World Championship title, he’s free to chase again. He lost the title because WWE thought, AJ Styles was the better man to carry SmackDown Live. They thought so because they listened to the internet babbling and moaning. Maybe, sometimes it’s better to listen to yourself because the internet is just a pool of opinions and the loudest voices never are the smartest.

  1. Personally, I wouldn’t listen to the negative stuff. It’s loud and discouraging but don’t let it deter your opinion. Don’t get wrapped up on how the internet perceives him, because the man himself admitted that he doesn’t care about that. All in all, I think Ambrose had a better champ run that most people imagined. You can’t call someone’s that held the title for 84 days with 5 title defenses a transitional champ.

I’m still interested in Ambrose’s story, and thankfully, there are fellow online fans that haven’t given up on him.

    1. Maybe I didn’t make myself perfectly clear. I don’t care what those people write behind their screens. I just wrote down what I’ve read in headlines from Google Alerts. I also didn’t say that I’ve given up on Ambrose. I know what he is capable of. And I know that he can do better. It’s just the reduced move set, WWE probably refuse to turn him heel for the next three years and no real and / or deep storyline that stretches a little longer than just from one PPV to the next one.

And there is also my time consuming writing job I have to care for. So I can’t watch all the stuff I’m not interested in or see my favourites used in a way I don’t care. It just makes me angry, I think too much about it and that takes away from my job. So, I just watch NXT and some segments from Ambrose vs Regal from time to time. Unless there is positive change.
