The Golden Boys are more or less a hidden treasure that needs to get some appreciation. William Regal and Robbie Brookside formed not just a tag team when they started wrestling. This also was the beginning of their friendship. And since both of them occasionally post great pictures on Twitter, I put them all here to enjoy all their glory. This page covers the pictures of The Golden Boys from wrestling together or against each other.

Thee footnotes

  • [1] Hinge & Bracket aka Dr. Evadne Hinge and Dame Hilda Bracket were the stage personae of George Logan and Patrick Fyffe. With impersonating two elderly women, Hinge & Bracket appeared in theatre, radio and on television between 1972 and the death of Patrick Fyffe in 2002. William Regal recently likes to post pictures of those elderly ladies on Twitter to compare the appearance of himself and Robbie Brookside nowadays. Just click here and here and have a little chuckle.
  • [2] George & Mildred was a British sitcom that aired from 1976 to 1979. Brian Murphy and Yootha Joyce starred as a married couple of the lazy and unemployed George who’s got no interest in sexual relations with his wife and Mildred who desperately wants to climb the social ladder – despite her husband.
  • [3] As a Liverpudlian, Robbie Brookside is an avid supporter of football club Everton FC – called Evertonian – while William Regal doesn’t even have the slightest interest in football (or other sports besides wrestling).
  • [4] This picture is from the aftermath of the match between The Golden Boys and Kendo Nagasaki & Blondie Barrett on 15 October 1988 (Part 1 / Part 2). The Golden Boys lost because Robbie Brookside turned on his tag team partner under obscure circumstances.
